. . . Meg Pugh - Snowboarding

08-09 Recap

Last winter I was re-born into the sport of snowboarding. I went new places, tried new tricks, and learned new lessons.  Looking back at the way things used to be, it's hard to believe ‘that’ was me. We love snowboarding; it's the greatest thing we all have in common.  My love for riding has evolved into a lifestyle, a dream, and a job, and I will do anything to make my dream a success.

On Nov.13th, I received a call from Nico at The Levitation Project: "it’s chest deep out here (Utah)!"   I was still at Mt. Hood, so I drove out immediately and woke up to the sickest powder of my life(so far...).  Utah was amazing and thanks to The Levitation Project, I was able to explore some amazing terrain, while simultaneously completing my Level 1 Avalanche Certification. Great days at Snowbird, Park City (where I held season passes), Brighton, and in the backcountry were abundant.

I rode Utah powder right up until the Grand Prix and Dew Tour started in Colorado.  I stayed in Colorado a bit longer and enjoyed Copper, Breck, Keystone, Echo, and Winter Park’s terrain before heading back to Utah for the North Face Masters at Snowbird (thanks Bern!). After taking 6th, I headed back out to Colorado for the X-games and Snow-Angels events in Aspen (it was a total honor and a blast to participate in these events, thanks Don B. and Gretchen B!!)

A season isn't complete without a trip to the east coast! The US Open was a total blast(5th)!! The QP event was so much fun and a monument of feature shaping progression!  Of course I had to stop by the world quarter pipe championships and take in some more action!

After most of the snow melted in Colorado, one resort remained open... A-Basin! Late spring consisted of shredding the basin and taking giant laps on the pass! I rode right up to leaving for summer at Hood!

As I write this it is so great to reflect on those amazing times, and use all my new knowledge to make this winter the BEST WINTER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF AWESOMENESS! and so it is written :) Stay tuned for pics, video, and blog!

Thanks to all my sponsors for providing me with equipment and support and to Barrett Christy for the awesome boards!

09-10 Mission

This season I plan on competing in the Colorado grand prix and dew tours, shredding a ton of powder everywhere from Cali to Colorado, and beyond, and focusing on progression! The North Face Masters at Snowbird is a must do contest as well as the US Open.  The Xgames and Snow-Angels are planned, pending a fourth invite to the X Games as well as a third invite to Snow-Angels. I am also hosting a women’s freestyle weekend on the East Coast, as well as completing my Level 2 Avalanche Certification.

I am going to round out my competition riding this season by doing slopestyle events as well as halfpipe, quarted pipe and more big mountain events. This year filming and shooting will take priority over every available moment and I am committed to getting an awesome and diverse part on tape!

Thanks in advance to everyone who has my back and supports me, I appreciate everything!!!! See you shredding!
